What to do after the accident? How soon should I make a claim?
If you have recently been injured in a car accident, it is important to contact your auto insurance provider to file the report and get the claim started. Once you have done this, contact your family doctor to make an appointment, and then contact us to do the same. We give the option to work on contingency, so the initial consultation with our law firm is free.
There are deadlines on reporting matters to the different insurance companies which we help you navigate through. If you have missed a deadline you can still pursue a case, we just need to figure out together how important the deadline is which is part of the initial consultation. This is part of the reason you should contact us right away. -
After the accident, the insurer has sent me some forms to complete. Can someone help me fill them out?
Yes, we assist with the paperwork which helps get your benefits started as fast as possible. If you fill out the paperwork on your own and make a mistake, it could cause a long delay in your benefits. This enables you to obtain faster access to your treatment and also helps to shorten overall recovery time.

Are my car insurance premiums going to go up after a car accident if I make a claim?
You are required to report a collision to your insurance company. In terms of your car insurance premium, it doesn’t matter if you make a claim to the insurance company or not, once they find out about it (whether from you, the other driver, the other driver’s insurance, the tow truck driver, the mechanic, the Collision Reporting Center, the police, or your doctor), the impact on your rates (if any) will depend on fault for the collision. If you are not at fault (for example, you are a passenger), then there will not be an impact on the premiums. If you are at fault, then yes your rates will probably increase if you do not have accident forgiveness. But remember, if the collision has already come to the attention of the insurance company by the time you are reading this, then it doesn’t really matter to your premiums if you pursue a claim.

My insurance company has sent me to an insurer preferred clinic? Do I have a choice as to which clinic to attend?
You have the right to go wherever you want for treatment. You might ultimately be in a dispute with your insurance company over your entitlement to therapy so you want to make sure that your treatment provider has your interests in mind. Speak to your doctor or your lawyer as to what you should do.
-
What will my initial consultation be like?
We will talk on the phone for about 10 minutes to ask about how you are doing, how the collision happened, and discuss what we can do to help. We can then set up an in-person meeting at your home, at our office, or at your doctor’s office to get more information.
-
Who will pay for your services?
We offer you the option to work on a contingency fee, which means we wait for your case to resolve before our services are paid for. We charge based on a percentage of your recovery, so we are working to get you the most amount of money appropriate. If we do not achieve a positive result for you, then there is no bill for our time.
